Here we can even see the Smurfs of Finland. Here are more historical copy free maps than you can wave a stick at even if you dual wielded all weekend. Who is to say what source you used to draw your own map?Īnd Google maps has a text here about their copyrights where they discuss "commercial purposes" and "fair usage". I mean, maps are based on the world, and the world is not protected by a copyright.ĮDIT: As a example this map here is copyright protected but the regions on that map are not, they excist on their own and are portrayed on many maps and images in many different ways. I don't know for sure, but that would seem to be OK. Originally posted by Noob:Would it be possible to import an image from google maps and go over the image to create a playable map then remove the map image when the map is complete? Nevertheless, I don't think it's particularly challenging from a technical point of view as it's a visual editor. If you wait, it might make things easier with the tutorial video.

Wage colossal wars solo, against the AI, or take on your gaming. From Rome to Asian nations, you create your own warring experience. Command your armies in one of the many ancient and medieval countries including the Roman Empire, the Inca, France, Russia, Japan or the Chinese Dynasties. TravisII is probably going to do a tutorial video also in the next few weeks (not sure though?). Age of Conquest is a turn based grand strategy wargame. The challenging part of map modding is the time it takes to draw & finally test a map! TravisII & I spent probably close to 50 hours over a period of 40 days to fully draw out 900+ provinces and 110+ nations in the world map. It's a visual editor! You will not need to program/code. The gist of modding is (a) to select an image to use (b) to draw the provinces, links, add nations etc. You should be able to figure out things fairly easily. I generally think it isn't that difficult to master from a how-to point of view.

Upgrade your graphic card drivers and it might work! I spent some time with "Tinez" in the Steam chat and he was successfully able to get the game to run.Disclaimer: I am probably the wrong person to ask as I have implemented the editor & know it in and out.

Go to the following URL & download the graphics card drivers for your system (either nVidia/Radeon/AMD/Intel): It's possible that similar to the above will work as well.

The error output should look something like the following:

#Age of conquest iv 1366x768 driver
You can look for driver updates here: NVIDIA Driver and Intel Drivers. The game requires OpenGL 2.1 or higher to run.

Here is how to best report bugs, so I can fix it them: Opening/Playing a save-file crashes the game: send me the save-file(s).

It's also possible that you get a black screen trying to run the application. I want to make bug-reporting as convenient as possible. It's possible that the game crashes at startup.
